2022 Sara Patton Poetry Stipend Recipient: Free Verse

Laura Apol is a professor at Michigan State University and the author of five full-length collections, most recently, A Fine Yellow Dust (2021), which has been recognized for a number of awards. A past poet laureate of Lansing, Michigan, Laura conducts creative writing workshops internationally, nationally, and locally. Her recent work focuses on therapeutic uses of writing in response to trauma.
