Kathy MacKay, TWH 2025 Directors Assistant (Nonfiction)

Kathy MacKay is nearing the completion of her memoir, a love story set against the backdrop of a little-known medical scandal. She began her career as a newspaper photographer, working primarily for The Boston Globe and The Nashua Telegraph in New Hampshire. Her writing has appeared in the above-mentioned newspapers, along with Art & Understanding Magazine. Kathy is the co-author and photographer of the 2004 book, Dying in Vein: Blood, Deception … Justice. She is a two-time recipient of the Individual Artist Fellowship for The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts. After thirty-five years, Kathy and her husband left their beloved state of New Hampshire and moved to South Florida, where she has found a rich literary community.
